Yesterday was an emotional day for many reasons. When I sat down to write, I didn't know where to start. I knew when I took on this DoThirty challenge that I needed to relive the day I've tried to suppress. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to go to a place I thought I wanted to forget, but it turns out that all these years it's right where I wanted to go back.
Mission accomplished. It's was extremely therapeutic to relive it and experience it in a way that allowed me to acknowledge it and process it. My sisters and parents also shared amazing posts on Facebook and it never ceases to amaze me the amount of support and love that our family receives in support of Henley. She has a way of bringing people together that is just impossible to comprehend. She was able to spread love everyday of her life and continues to do so 5 years after leaving us.
Because Casey Crouse created this challenge, I have been able to write again. My goal was to elicit personal growth in a way that inspired others to help me raise awareness for something I care deeply about. After Henley's Heavenly birthday I am absolutely humbled that we are closing in on my goal of raising $3000. Enough to fund 3 "Buzz Around Indy" trips that allow a child fighting cancer and their family to get away from the unfair fight they're all facing and have an all expenses paid experience around Indianapolis.
Tonight I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you reading, thank you for supporting the Henley Romine BEElieve Foundation, and thank you for the never ending support you all have given our family.
